Srinagar, May 15: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Friday announced that the NEET-UG re-examination will be conducted on June 21, while the exam will shift to Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode from next year to improve transparency and prevent malpractice.
Addressing a press conference, Pradhan said the government would ensure that no deserving student suffers due to irregularities and maintained a zero-tolerance policy against examination malpractice.
He admitted that question papers had leaked under the guise of “guess papers,” following which the government cancelled the examination in the interest of students.
The minister said admit cards would be issued by June 14 and students would be allowed to choose their preferred examination city again. He also announced that exam fees would be refunded and no fee would be charged for the re-examination.
Pradhan further said the exam duration has been extended by 15 minutes and assured that the Centre would coordinate with states to minimise inconvenience for students. (KINS)
