Anantnag, Jun 13: Three minor girls who had gone missing from the Nunwani area of Brakpora in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district were traced safely by police on Saturday, bringing relief to their families and residents of the area.
The missing girls — Munaza Mudasir, daughter of Mudasir Ahmad Bhat of Nunwani; Serat Jan, daughter of Mushtaq Ahmad Sheikh of Wardwan, presently residing at Nunwani; and Umera Jan, daughter of Mushtaq Ahmad Sheikh of Nunwani — had reportedly gone missing from their respective homes on the evening of June 12.
The girls, whose disappearance had triggered a massive search operation, were located at Cafeteria Park Achabal following sustained efforts by police teams.
Their disappearance on Friday evening had sparked concern across the locality, prompting police and local volunteers to launch extensive searches to trace their whereabouts.
Reports said the girls had remained untraceable, leading to growing anxiety among family members, particularly as the area is located close to forested terrain.
Police sources said multiple teams were engaged in the search operation and eventually succeeded in tracing the children from Achabal. The girls were found safe and subsequently reunited with their families.
The successful recovery has brought a sense of relief to relatives and local residents who had been anxiously awaiting a breakthrough in the case. [KNT]
