Baramulla, Jun 20: Chairperson of the Jammu and Kashmir Waqf Board, Dr. Darakhshan Andrabi, Saturday visited the revered shrine of Janbaz Wali (RA) at Khanpora, Baramulla, and assured that the foundation stone for the reconstruction project will be laid soon and work on the shrine will commence shortly.
The more than 600-year-old shrine, an important spiritual and religious centre for devotees, will be rebuilt with a modern and aesthetically designed structure while preserving its sanctity and heritage. Janbaz Wali (RA) is regarded as a pious saint, and the shrine is expected to emerge as a model religious destination for generations to come.
People of Baramulla expressed happiness over the initiative and appreciated the efforts of the Waqf Board Chairperson. They also thanked the district administration, Baramulla MLA, and other dignitaries who have extended support for the reconstruction of the historic shrine.
Residents termed the project a landmark step towards preserving the rich spiritual and cultural heritage of Baramulla.
