Srinagar, Jun 23: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from society, Police in Kulgam have arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband from his possession.
According to a statement, a special Naka was established by Police team of Police Station Kulgam at Chattabal crossing Kulgam. During checking, Police party intercepted and apprehended a suspicious person carrying a bag. During search, 1.187 kg of Ganja-like contraband substance and one aluminium foil filled in the said bag was recovered from his possession. He has been identified as Md Rokib son of Md Mofajul resident of Chandbita, Lalkunri, Uttar Dinajpur, West Bengal. Contraband item and aluminium foil have been seized. Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 111/2026 under relevant sections of law stands registered in Police Station Kulgam and investigation has been initiated.
