Srinagar, Jul 1: The ruling National Conference on Wednesday said it has decided to invite constituent parties of the INDIA bloc, along with other political parties in Jammu and Kashmir, to participate in its protest programme on statehood in New Delhi on the first day of the Monsoon Session.
The party leadership met NC president Dr. Farooq Abdullah at his Gupkar residence in Srinagar today to review and finalise arrangements for the proposed protest at Jantar Mantar.
During the meeting, it was resolved that all constituent parties of the INDIA bloc, along with other political parties in Jammu and Kashmir, would be formally invited to participate in the protest.
The NC also decided to send invitations to leaders of parties that are not part of the INDIA bloc but are also not aligned with the NDA. The party said formal invitation letters will be sent to all political parties in Jammu and Kashmir.
According to NC leadership, party president Dr. Farooq Abdullah will personally write to the respective leaders, inviting them to join the protest.
The protest at Jantar Mantar is being organized by the NC to press for the restoration of Jammu and Kashmir’s statehood. (KNO)
