Srinagar, Jul 2: The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) Kashmir on Thursday said it has chargesheeted four individuals for allegedly securing government jobs in the Health Department using fake and forged educational certificates.
In a statement, a spokesperson said the Economic Offences Wing (Crime Branch J&K), Kashmir, has filed a chargesheet in FIR No. 16/2014 under Sections 420, 468 and 471 RPC before the Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate, Srinagar, against four accused for allegedly securing government appointments through fake and forged educational testimonials.
He said the accused are Shuja Jeelani S/o Gh. Jeelani R/o 79-B, Pamposh Colony, Channapora, Srinagar; Mohd Iqbal S/o Mohd Usman R/o H.No. 181, Umer Colony, Lal Nagar, Channapora, Srinagar; Nisar Ahmad Wani S/o Nasir Ahmad Wani R/o Malwari, Pulwama; and Riyaz Ahmad Shah S/o Ab. Aziz Shah R/o Midoora, Awantipora, Pulwama.
“The case was registered following a complaint alleging that four candidates selected by the Services Selection Recruitment Board (SSRB) for various posts in the Health Department had secured their appointments on the basis of fake and forged educational testimonials,” the spokesperson said.
He said that during verification, the documents submitted by the accused were found to be forged and inconsistent with the records furnished at the time of selection. Consequently, their selections were cancelled. The investigation established that the accused had dishonestly procured government employment by using forged certificates, thereby cheating the authorities.
“The general public is advised to remain vigilant against economic fraudsters and report any such incidents to the SSP, EOW Kashmir, Crime Branch J&K. Victims of economic fraud may also submit their complaints via email at [email protected],” the spokesperson added. (KNO)
