Boy goes missing after being swept away in Gurez River

Bandipora, Jul 6: A 10-year-old boy was swept away by the strong currents of the Kishanganga River while bathing in the Gurez area of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Monday evening, officials said.
An official said that the boy was bathing in the Kishanganga River when he was caught in the fast-flowing current and went missing.
Soon after the incident, Police, Army and local volunteers launched a search and rescue operation. Senior police officers are personally supervising the rescue efforts. The boy was later identified as Babar Bashir (10), a resident of Sheikhpora in Tulail.
Meanwhile, police have taken up an investigation. (KNO)
