Jammu, Jul 21: The Border Security Force (BSF) on Tuesday apprehended a 53-year-old Pakistani national who allegedly attempted to cross the International Border into Indian territory in the Khour sector of Jammu district, officials said.
The individual was intercepted by alert BSF personnel during surveillance along the International Border and was taken into custody at Border Outpost (BOP) Malabela.
Officials said the Pakistani national was apprehended while allegedly trying to enter Indian territory. His identity has not been disclosed.
The apprehended individual is currently being questioned by security agencies to ascertain the circumstances and motive behind the alleged border crossing. Officials are also trying to determine whether the intrusion was inadvertent or deliberate.
Further legal formalities are being carried out, while security agencies have launched an investigation into the incident. [KNT]
