Srinagar, Jul 28: Kashmir Indepth News Service (KINS) on Tuesday held an annual reporters’ conference here in Srinagar.
Reporters from all districts attended the conference while some of them joined through video conferencing.
Speaking on the occasion, KINS Editor-in-Chief Ishtiyaq Kar stressed the need for responsible reporting in the light of changing media scenario.
“Responsible journalism is the need of the hour. It becomes more important for us to report truthfully and honestly. We should work hard to serve the people by providing them credible news,” said Ishtiyaq Kar.
He appreciated the efforts of KINS reporters from all over J&K for their timely, truthful and responsible reporting for which they have gained popularity and credibility among the people.
“KINS will continue to work in the same manner and follow professional and ethical journalism to serve the people by giving them authentic news,” he added.
On the eve of the conference, KINS inducted a number of new reporters into its fold. Ishtiyaq Kar said that induction of new reporters would help KINS to expand its network of reporters in Jammu and Kashmir.
The conference provided a platform to reporters to share their experiences and views on various issues. The reporters also discussed ways to enhance news coverage, improve coordination among them and maintain the quality of news and reports. (KINS)
