DC Anantnag chairs MY Bharat District Advisory Committee meeting

Anantnag, Aug 10: A meeting of the District Advisory Committee of MY Bharat, Anantnag was held Monday under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag, Dr. Bilal Mohi-ud-din Bhat at the DC Office.
The meeting was attended ADC, GM DIC, ACR, CMO, DIO, DYSSO, DD MY Bharat, representatives from colleges, other members of the committee besides concerned officials of various departments.
At the outset, Deputy Director MY Bharat Anantnag, Khushal Gupta, briefed the committee about the mandate, functioning and various initiatives of MY Bharat, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India. He highlighted the importance of the MY Bharat portal as a platform for providing youth with diverse opportunities for volunteering, experiential learning, engagement and participation in nation-building activities. He also briefed about the Annual Action Plan of MY Bharat for the year 2026–27, outlining the proposed activities and areas of convergence with various departments.
Addressing the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner emphasised the need for concerted efforts to implement the program in letter and spirit in the district. He called for integrating the program with Nasha Mukt Abhiyan, Sports, Youth Club activities, Disaster Management and other government engagements to tap the true potential of youth of the district. He stressed the importance of creating greater awareness regarding harmful effects of substance abuse through MY Bharat so the dream of Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat @2047 is realised.
Dr. Bilal asked the MY Bharat officials to prepare a detailed action plan and undertake coordinated awareness, outreach and youth engagement activities in consultation with Education, YSS, Colleges, Social Welfare, RDD and other departments. He urged all departments to facilitate the onboarding of eligible youth on the portal so that maximum convergence and youth participation could be ensured.
Highlighting the significance of the programme, the Deputy Commissioner directed all departments to actively participate in the Intensive Registration Drive and ensure that maximum youth are registered on the MY Bharat portal. He further instructed the departments to get onboarded on the portal for regular publishing of suitable Experiential Learning Programmes (ELPs) for the benefit of local youth.
The DC asked the General Manager, District Industries Centre (GM DIC) to ensure maximum registration of eligible youth and regular monitoring in consultation with ACD, DYSSO, BDOs and other officers. He issued directives to departments for nominating their respective MY Bharat Nodal Officers and Campus Ambassadors to strengthen coordination, facilitate youth engagement and ensure effective implementation of MY Bharat initiatives at the grassroots level.
Concluding the discussions, the committee decided to provide strategic guidance and necessary support to MY Bharat Anantnag for organising various programmes and activities aimed at providing meaningful opportunities to youth, promoting convergence among departments and strengthening youth participation in nation-building initiatives.
