Srinagar, Aug 14: President Droupadi Murmu on Friday said Operation Sindoor demonstrated the Indian Armed Forces’ ability to respond to terrorism with precision and sent a strong message to terrorists and their supporters that they would face consequences wherever they operate.
Addressing the nation on the eve of Independence Day, Murmu described the suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty with a country that harbours terrorism as a decisive step in the national interest, particularly for farmers.
The President said India’s fight against terrorism reflects its commitment to truth and justice. She also recalled Kargil Vijay Diwas and paid tribute to the valour of the Armed Forces.
Murmu further termed making India Naxal-free a major achievement, saying areas once affected by Naxalism are witnessing renewed enthusiasm and inclusive development.
The President lauded students, teachers, farmers, scientists, healthcare workers, workers, sportspersons, artists, social workers and others for their contributions. (KINS)
