Pulwama, Aug 18: A Power Development Department employee died after suffering an electric shock while repairing an electric wire at Chatergam in Budgam district on Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as Mohammad Amin, a resident of Khanda, Pulwama.
Local sources said that Amin was reportedly carrying out repair work on an electric line at Chatergam when he suffered the electric shock. He sustained critical injuries and could not survive.
The incident has once again brought into focus the risks faced by power department employees while carrying out repair and maintenance work, with incidents involving electric shocks continuing to claim lives in Jammu and Kashmir.
