DC Budgam reviews arrangements for Eid-ul-Milad-un-Nabi (SAW)

Budgam, Aug 20: Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Athar Aamir Khan, Thursday chaired a meeting to review and finalize arrangements for the smooth and peaceful observance of Eid-ul-Milad-un-Nabi (SAW) across the district.
During the meeting, detailed arrangements at major shrines, mosques and other religious places were reviewed, particularly at venues expected to witness large congregations. Discussions focused on security, traffic regulation, road connectivity, healthcare, drinking water, power supply, sanitation and other essential services.
The Deputy Commissioner directed all concerned departments to put adequate arrangements in place well in advance to ensure that devotees and the general public do not face any inconvenience during the celebrations.
The Health Department was directed to deploy medical teams and ambulances at identified locations and ensure the availability of essential medicines. The Power Development Department was asked to maintain uninterrupted power supply and keep backup arrangements ready to meet any emergency requirement.
The Roads and Buildings (R&B) Department was directed to ensure that roads leading to shrines and congregation points remain in good condition and undertake necessary repairs wherever required. The Jal Shakti Department was similarly instructed to ensure adequate and uninterrupted drinking water supply at all designated venues.
Emphasizing sanitation and cleanliness, the Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned agencies to ensure proper waste management and maintain cleanliness around shrines, mosques and other congregation points before, during and after the celebrations.
Reviewing traffic arrangements, the Deputy Commissioner directed the ARTO and Traffic Police to formulate an effective traffic management plan, regulate vehicular movement and facilitate the smooth movement of devotees, particularly at locations expected to witness heavy gatherings.
The Deputy Commissioner stressed the importance of close coordination among all departments and directed all stakeholders to remain responsive and ensure prompt action on any requirement arising during the celebrations.
The meeting was attended by ADDC Budgam Vivek Agarwal, ADC Budgam Mehraj-ud-Din Shah, SE R&B Budgam, ACD Budgam, CMO Budgam, Executive Engineers of Jal Shakti and PDD, EOs of MC Magam and Charar-i-Sharief, and representatives of Waqf Ziyarat Sharief Charar-i-Sharief, Pakherpora and Peth Makhama.
