Kangan, Aug 22: The body of an 18 year old youth from Srinagar was recovered from Nallah Sindh in Kangan area of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Saturday, two days after he went missing while taking a bath, officials said.
An official said that the teenager was taking a bath in Nallah Sindh near the dumping park at Kijpara on Friday, following which he drowned and went missing.
He said that soon after the incident, Police, SDRF and locals launched a search operation in the area and after nearly two days of efforts, the body was recovered near Prang, Kangan.
The deceased was identified as Danish Bilal (18), son of Bilal Ahmad Hajam, a resident of Srinagar.
Meanwhile, investigation has been taken up and the body will be handed over to the family after medico-legal formalities. (KNO)
