DC Budgam visits ASYM District Hospital, assesses patient care

Budgam, Aug 24: Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Athar Aamir Khan, today conducted an evening inspection of ASYM District Hospital Budgam to review the functioning of various departments, availability of patient-care facilities and overall healthcare arrangements.
During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner inspected the Addiction Treatment Facility (ATF) Department and reviewed its functioning, infrastructure and requirements for further strengthening patient-care services. It was observed that a dedicated inpatient facility is required for patients requiring admission, observation and comprehensive treatment. Accordingly, 10 beds have been identified for establishing an IPD facility for the ATF Department.
The Deputy Commissioner also reviewed the availability and utilization of space in the hospital. The possibility of identifying additional space from the District Early Intervention Centre (DEIC) section for the proposed ATF facility was discussed, with directions to the concerned officers to examine the feasibility of relocating the existing facilities to suitable alternative locations, without disrupting ongoing patient-care services.
Emphasizing optimum utilization of available infrastructure, the Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned officers and section in-charges to submit the necessary assessment and ensure coordinated implementation of the proposed arrangements. He also stressed the need for maintaining cleanliness, functionality and efficient use of available resources to further improve healthcare delivery and patient welfare at ASYM District Hospital Budgam.
