Tangmarg, Aug 25: Srinagar MP Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi on Tuesday said he would respond in the coming days to National Conference president Dr Farooq Abdullah’s call for his resignation, while maintaining that he holds the veteran leader in high regard.
Speaking with reporters, Ruhullah, said it is not possible that Farooq Abdullah asks him for something and he doesn’t give it to him. “It is not possible that I send him back empty-handed”.
Ruhullah was responding to a query on Dr Farooq remarl that he should resign from the Lok Sabha and seek a fresh mandate from the people.
“He has asked for something at this age. I respect him. I don’t want him to ask me for something and I return it to him empty-handed,” he added.
Asked whether he would accept Farooq Abdullah’s challenge, Ruhullah said he will give an answer in a few days. (KNO)
