Srinagar, Aug 27: Police have registered an FIR against five shopkeepers for allegedly creating roadside obstructions at Jehangir Chowk in Srinagar, affecting the movement of pedestrians and vehicles.
According to officials, the shopkeepers had placed matting outside their shops, allegedly occupying space along the rodside and obstructing the free movement of the public and vehicular traffic.
The obstruction was also stated to have increased the risk of accidents at the busy location.
Police have initiated proceedings under law against these shopkeepers, who according to officials had been obstructing movement of traffic and people on daily basis. [KNT]
