42,731 J&K students benefit under PMSSS in three academic years

Srinagar, Sep 25: As many as 42,731 students from Jammu and Kashmir benefited under the Prime Minister’s Special Scholarship Scheme during the last three academic years, the government told the Legislative Assembly on Friday.
The scheme provides financial assistance to eligible students from Jammu and Kashmir pursuing undergraduate studies in institutions outside the Union Territory.
The government said the scheme has enabled students to pursue higher education in different professional and general education streams through scholarship support.
The figures were provided in response to a question during the ongoing autumn session of the Legislative Assembly.
The Prime Minister’s Special Scholarship Scheme is administered for eligible students from Jammu and Kashmir to facilitate access to higher education outside the Union Territory. [KNT]
