Srinagar, Oct 2: The Friday following the Urs-Mubarak of Hazrat Sheikh Syed Abdul Qadir Jeelani (RA), popularly known as Dastgeer Sahib, was observed at the Dastgeer Sahib shrine in Khanyar here, on Friday, with the sacred relic of the revered saint displayed for devotees.
A large number of devotees from Srinagar and other parts of Kashmir visited the shrine and offered prayers, recited the Holy Quran and participated in special prayers and supplications.
The display of the sacred relic, drew devotees who gathered at the shrine to have a glimpse of it and seek blessings. “We come here with faith and devotion. Seeing the sacred relic is a special and emotional moment for us,” said Zubair Ahmad, a devotee from Budgam.
Bilal Ahmad, a resident of Bemina, Srinagar, said the occasion holds special religious significance for devotees. “We visit the shrine to offer prayers and seek blessings. The gathering gives us an opportunity to remember Dastgeer Sahib (RA) and pray for peace and well-being,” he said.
Notably, the shrine and adjoining areas witnessed a spiritual atmosphere throughout the day as devotees continued to arrive for prayers and religious observances. (KNO)
