Srinagar, Oct 8: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has formally revised the cadre batch of IAS officer Ram Niwas Sharma, moving his seniority from the 2010 batch to the 2009 batch of the AGMUT cadre.
The decision follows the re-fixation of the officer’s seniority in the Indian Administrative Service (AGMUT Cadre) by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Government of India.
According to an order issued by the General Administration Department (GAD), J&K, the revision has been made pursuant to Order No. 14015/27/2019-AIS-I dated July 31, 2026, issued by the DoPT.
Following the revised seniority determination, the Government has notified that Shri Ram Niwas Sharma, IAS, shall be treated as belonging to the AGMUT:2009 batch instead of AGMUT:2010.
The GAD has also directed that the revised batch position be incorporated into the officer’s official service records and relevant government documents.
The order has been issued under the authority of the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir. (KNC)
