Srinagar, Oct 22: Leader of Opposition in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Sunil Sharma, addressed a gathering of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) party workers in Srinagar, holding detailed interactions on various political, organisational and public-interest issues concerning Jammu and Kashmir.
During his address, Sunil Sharma emphasised the importance of strengthening the party at the grassroots level and maintaining close coordination among party leaders, office-bearers and workers. He called upon party workers to remain actively connected with the people, understand their concerns and work with dedication to ensure that public grievances are effectively raised before the appropriate authorities.
Highlighting the crucial role of grassroots workers in strengthening the party, the Leader of Opposition underscored that the organisation’s real strength lies in its dedicated cadre, disciplined functioning and sustained engagement with the public. He urged workers to take the party’s policies, programmes and development-oriented vision to every section of society, ensuring that people’s voices receive due attention.
The meeting also provided an opportunity to discuss various issues affecting the people of Jammu and Kashmir, including public grievances, developmental priorities, administrative accountability and the need for effective governance. The importance of addressing the day-to-day concerns of citizens and ensuring that legitimate demands are raised on appropriate platforms remained central to the discussions.
Sunil Sharma reiterated the importance of a proactive opposition in a democratic system, stressing that the BJP would continue to raise matters of public importance and question shortcomings in governance wherever necessary. He emphasised that the party’s responsibility extends beyond political activities and includes standing firmly with the people on issues affecting their daily lives.
Addressing the organisational dimension, Sharma stressed the need for unity, discipline and collective responsibility among party workers. He called for greater coordination between the party’s organisational structure and its elected representatives to ensure that issues emerging from the ground are communicated effectively and pursued with seriousness.
He encouraged workers to intensify public outreach, strengthen booth-level activities and maintain regular contact with citizens. He also highlighted the importance of taking feedback from people, identifying emerging concerns and ensuring that the party remains responsive to the expectations of the public.
The gathering reflected the BJP’s continued emphasis on organisational consolidation and political engagement across Jammu and Kashmir. The interaction served as an occasion for party workers to deliberate on their responsibilities, exchange views on prevailing issues and reaffirm their commitment to strengthening the organisation.
Concluding his address, Sunil Sharma called upon party workers to work with renewed determination, sincerity and a strong sense of responsibility. He emphasised that sustained public engagement, effective communication and a united organisational approach are essential to addressing people’s concerns and strengthening democratic participation.
