Srinagar, Oct 24: On the second consecutive day of public interactions, Leader of Opposition in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Sunil Sharma, engaged with delegations from various districts of Jammu and Kashmir and listened to their grievances, demands and concerns.
The interaction reflected the importance of direct public engagement, accessible leadership and sustained efforts to highlight issues affecting people across the Union Territory. Sunil Sharma gave a patient hearing to the visiting delegations, who brought forward a range of concerns and sought his intervention for their timely resolution.
During the meeting, representatives from different areas highlighted issues concerning local development, public services, administrative matters and other challenges affecting the day-to-day lives of residents. Government employees also raised matters concerning their service-related concerns, workplace issues and other demands, seeking appropriate intervention and attention from the concerned authorities.
Sunil Sharma assured the delegations that their concerns would receive due attention and that genuine grievances, including those relating to government employees, would be taken up with the appropriate authorities wherever necessary. He emphasised the importance of responsive governance, administrative accountability and effective coordination to ensure that legitimate concerns are addressed in a timely and transparent manner.
Highlighting the importance of listening to every section of society, the Leader of Opposition underscored that government employees play a significant role in the functioning of public institutions and the delivery of essential services. Their genuine service-related concerns, he indicated, deserve due consideration and appropriate examination by the competent authorities.
He reiterated that public representatives must remain connected with the people, understand their difficulties and work consistently towards finding practical solutions. Such interactions provide an important platform for citizens, employees and other stakeholders to communicate their concerns directly and bring matters requiring administrative attention to the notice of elected representatives.
