Ganderbal, Nov 20: The Primary Health Centre situated at Wussan area on Srinagar-Leh highway in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district remains classified as COVID centre though there are no such cases in and around the area.
Abdul Rahim, a local resident said that the Primary Health centre is fully equipped with latest medical equipment including diagnostic facilities and medicines, however due to non availability of doctors, the residents of Wussan and adjoining areas are suffering immensely.
He adds that in case of any emergency they are forced to travel long distances either to reach Kangan or Ganderbal hospital which is a threat to the life of complicated patients.
Aqib Ahad, another local, said that they have failed to understand if nearby Panchayat Ghar is equipped with five beds which have been established for COVID care after a Government order a few months back, “why the Primary health center still remains as COVID care centre.”
He said there is no facility of X-Ray and shortage of doctors especially during night.
CMO Ganderbal said that the hospital was Covid designated hospital. “Now X-Ray and other facilities are there,” she said.
About shortage of doctors, she said, “that there is no shortage of paramedics as per assigned staff.”
