Srinagar, Dec 4: Police along with security forces arrested an active militant in Budgam and recovered arms & ammunition from his possession, police said on Saturday.
“On a specific input regarding movement of militants in Poshkar area of Budgam, Police alongwith 62RR/2RR & 79Bn CRPF launched a joint cordon and search operation in the area. During the search operation the joint team arrested an active militant linked with LeT. He has been identified as Ab Hameed Nath resident of Pethzanigam Beerwah, Budgam,” a police spokesman said.
Incriminating materials including a pistol and one magazine, five pistol rounds and one Chinese grenade were recovered from his possession, police said, adding that as per police records, he was active since Feb 2021.
“A case under relevant sections of law stands registered against him in Police Station and investigation has been initiated,” police said.
