Two years after the outbreak of deadly Covid-19, vaccination for children in the age group of 15-18 has been launched in Jammu and Kashmir like other parts of the country. In absence of the vaccination, the schools remained closed for nearly two years now and the government didn’t even consider the reopening of the schools to ensure that the health of the children is not jeopardized. The educationists and others have been pressing for the reopening of the schools in Jammu and Kashmir, but the delay in launching the vaccination for children has kept the locks closed for the students. However, as it has been observed that the people mostly in Kashmir showed reluctance to get vaccinated, which include both adult and elderly as well, it is expected that the children will not be kept away from the vaccination sites as their inoculation is pivotal to ensure the reopening of schools, which would help the children in getting the education properly. In terms of safety of children and healthy society, the children in the mentioned age group should take the lead in getting vaccinated. The parents should also encourage the vaccination drive and persuade the other parents too to visit the vaccination sites in their respective areas along with their children for inoculation at earliest. The early inoculation of children is not only pivotal for the healthy society, but for the education sector as well.
