Srinagar, Jan 29: Around 40 percent of doctors and paramedics from different hospitals of J&K who were tested positive for Covid-19 during the third wave have resumed after recovering from the virus.
Top health officials said that around 2,500 doctors and paramedics working in different hospitals of J&K have been tested positive for Covid-19 since Jan 01.
They said that around 40 percent of them have already resumed their duties after recovering from Covid-19 while in coming days
An official from GMC Srinagar said that there was shortage of manpower in all hospitals as doctors, nurses and other paramedics have tested positive for Covid-19.
However, as around 40 percent of staff have resumed duties, the staff crisis is over and now adequate staff is available in every section to deal with the patients.
He further added that some doctors and paramedics are still being tested positive for Covid-19 but the number is quite low as compared to numbers which earlier were being tested positive for Covid-19.
An official from GMC Jammu said that earlier we were working our level best to treat every patient on time but in absence of a large section of staff, there was heavy load on the staff presently working.
He said that a major section of the staff has now resumed duties after their recovery due to which the staff working already there have also heaved a sigh of relief.
Doctors from other hospitals also said that several doctors and other staff members who were in isolation after testing positive have resumed their duties and many more are expected to recover in coming days after which they too will resume duties. (KNO)
