The schools across Jammu and Kashmir are closed from the last nearly three years now in wake of the outbreak of Covid-19, which claimed thousands of lives and infected lakhs of people so far. The decision to close down the educational institutions was taken to prevent the deadly virus from spreading. However, most of the people across Jammu and Kashmir including the children have been vaccinated so far, which was administered to the people in order to boost their immune system. With the passage of nearly three years, the government has not taken any decision with regard to the opening of schools in Jammu and Kashmir. In contrary, the governments in other States after vaccinating the children are mulling to reopen the Schools and other educational institutions. The online mode of education as per the educationists is not helping the students to get proper education, thus leaving to the lurch at large. With the government in Jammu and Kashmir claiming to have vaccinated a large number of population across the Union Territory falling under the age group of 15-18 years, the authorities should also consider opening the schools now so that the children, who have not attended the offline classes since long, could heave a sigh of relief. Therefore, in order to take steps in this regard, the government should take board the teachers and parents to come up with a fresh decision and put an end to the online mode of education in Jammu and Kashmir for the wellbeing of the students.
