DC Shopian visits various areas of Zainapora

Shopian, Feb 12: The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Shopian, Sachin Kumar Vaishya Saturday conducted an extensive tour of Zainapora during which he reviewed the developmental scenario of the area.
The aim of the visit was to give fillip to the development process in the district which was recently resumed.
At the Tehsil Office, Zainapora, DDC reviewed the progress of PRI, BDC and DDC grants undertaken by the RDD and PDD Departments for execution.
The DDC directed the SDM, Zainapora and others concerned to fully involve themselves in the developmental process and monitor the ongoing developmental works on top priority basis. He directed for completion of the works taken up for execution within set timelines positively and also emphasized for speeding up the pace of ongoing developmental works to facilitate the general masses of the area.
Vaishya warned against any kind of laxity in completing the works within the fixed timeline and added that the same will not be tolerated at any cost. He directed Ex. Engineers and others concerned to ensure quality standard of works with due adherence to timeline.
The DDC also took stock of power sectors and directed PDD authorities for shifting of old damaged electric poles and installation of new ones at village Babapora to facilitate the general masses of the area.
DDC enroute interacted with the people of Rebon, Sugan and Babapora and enquired from them regarding the basic amenities being provided to them like Power supply and other essential services.
The people put forth their demands and issues of public importance which include power supply, water facility, drainage system and cleaning of Irrigation Canals etc.
The DDC heard them patiently and assured that all their genuine issues would be addressed in a time bound manner within a shortest possible time for the well-being of the people of the area.
Later, DDC visited Sugan Rambiara and took strong notice of illegal mining from Rambiara and directed the concerned officers for seizing of JCBs involved in illegal mining, lodging of FIRs against the violators to stop and curb this menace forever.
The DDC was accompanied by Chief Planning Officer, Shopian, Khursheed Ahmed Khatana, SDM Zainapora, Mushtaq Ahmad, AD Planning, Tehsildar Zainapora, Ex. Engineers and other concerned officers.
