Keep Kashmir connected

The failures of administration to ensure speedy clearance of roads and other things seems to have no end in Jammu and Kashmir as there has been no let up to the sufferings being faced by the people after every snowfall in Kashmir. One fails to understand that when shall the government be in a ready mode to ensure early restoration of electricity, roads as well as the other basic facilities. However, it has been witnessed that the administration usually comes up with statements with regard to the restoration of basic facilities, but the home work it should have done prior to the inclement weather conditions always remains missing from the ground. It seems that the people are being pushed to the wall deliberately as such an issue can never happen again if the people at the helm of affairs would learn the lessons from the past. Such sufferings and hardships to the people during inclement weather conditions are not new as the people are used to it, but when the government has been making claims about ensuring better governance on the ground, there should be at least speedy process and prior homework to ensure the facilities to the people in any eventuality. The administration should consider putting an end to the sluggish approach and ensure that the people would not suffer in the future whenever Kashmir receives fresh snowfall. The prior readiness is must to tackle the situation, which needs to be ensured always whenever there is forecast of bad weather conditions.
