‘No other option’: Street vendors in Kashmir work through intense heat

Jammu, Mar 4: Former deputy chief minister and senior Congress leader, Tara Chand on Friday said that Congress party in Jammu and Kashmir is not up to the level of what it was in 2002.
Tara said that Congress party in comparison to what it was in 2002 is very worrisome as strong leaders in the party have not worked upto the expectations.
“I feel that time has come for Congress leaders to unite and work for the welfare of the people and make party more strong than what it was in 2002 under the leadership of Ghulam Nabi Azad,” he added.
Replying over BJP’s slogan of “AB KI BAAR 50 PAAR”, he said that Congress never made hollow slogans like other parties. “We always believed that when people trusted us, we worked day and night to resolve issues of people.”
He said that when Congress got opportunity they did what was not even in their election manifesto but there are some people who said they will create two crore jobs but the ground reality is something else.
Reacting over G A Mir as Pradesh Congress president, he said that he is president of Congress and he has a lot of respect for him but under his leadership, Congress party is not upto the level where it should have been.
“There was need of coordination with every member of the party irrespective of their role but he didn’t respect leaders and workers which is why party is degrading day by day.”
On being asked whether Ghulam Nabi Azad will part ways from the party, he said that rumours are totally baseless as he will never leave party.
He further said that Congress will form government in Jammu and Kashmir and if need be they will form coalition with like minded party. (KNS)
