Srinagar, Mar 12: The government on Saturday said that there was no nomenclature of ‘Head Teacher’ posts in the School Education Department in accordance with the Jammu and Kashmir Service Recruitment Rules.
Principal Secretary to Government for School Education Department, B K Singh in a meeting has said, “It has come to light that the salary of masters posted as Head Teachers in the upgraded Middle Schools is being drawn against the post of Masters available in other Middle and High Schools as there is no post of Head Teacher in the Jammu and Kashmir Education (Subordinate) Recruitment Rules notified vide SRO-308-2008.”
Singh has said, “To streamline the posts in the upgraded Middle Schools, all the Master posts in different Middle and High Schools where the Head Teachers (actually Masters) draw their salary are shifted to these upgraded Middle Schools with all the norms entailed with Master cadre.”
Pertinently, a meeting regarding the drawl of salary of Masters (Head-Teachers) was held on February-07 in the office chambers of Principal Secretary to Government for School Education Department.
The meeting was attended by Director School Education of Jammu and Kashmir divisions, Additional Secretary to Government (SED), Deputy Secretary to Government, Deputy Secretary to Government and Nodal Officer HRM Section.
