Kupwara, May 11: Army and police have recovered 12 grenades and 182 rounds of Ak-47 rifle from a militant associate who was arrested in Kralpora area in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district, official sources said on Tuesday.
They said 17RR and 160 Territorial Army along with SOG Kralpora arrested the “militant associate” Abdul Ahad Lone son of Abdul Gani at Gararayal Kupwara based on specific information. “12 grenades and 182 Ak-47 rounds” have been recovered from his possession. They said middle-aged man was associated with Al-Badr formerly.
A police spokesman said besides 12 grenades and 182 rounds of AK-47, Rs.169500 was recovered from his possession.
Accordingly, he said, a case FIR No. 30/2021 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Kralpora and further investigation is in progress. (GNS)
