Kashmir’s soul incomplete without Noon Chai

There has been no let up to the unscheduled power cuts in the Valley even in the ongoing holy month of Ramadhan, which has left thousands of families across Kashmir to lurch at large. The government prior to the Ramadhan had assured adequate electricity to the people in this month, however, the situation remained unchanged as the people are being pushed to the wall especially at the peak hours, Sehri and Iftaar. It is for the first time that such a situation is being witnessed in the Valley in this holy month. The situation is worsening with each passing day as the pesky power cuts continue to mount, thereby leaving the local consumers here to lurch at large. One fails to understand why the pesky power cuts continue at a time when there has been rise in the temperature across the Valley. The unscheduled power cuts could be witnessed in Kashmir during winters only, but the situation remained same even during the spring season. The government at this juncture must ensure that the promises done with the people here are fulfilled. Therefore, the government should take appropriate measures at an earliest to put an end to the sufferings of people by ensuring adequate electricity to the consumers so that the people here could heave a sigh of relief. The concerned authorities must be directed to end the unscheduled power cuts here in view of the holy month of Ramadhan as the present situation has led to the sufferings of consumers very badly.
