Baramulla, Apr 26: A week after Towseef Ahmad Raina was removed from the post of President Municipal Council Baramulla after losing non confidence motion, atleast six councillors on Tuesday joined Bharatiya Janata Party.
The joining function was held at Dak Banglow Baramulla, in presence of union home minister Dr Jitendra Singh and senior BJP leader Anwar Khan.
The six councillors which have joined saffron party include Mudasir Ahmad Tantary, Fareeda Begum, Jasbir Kaur, Gurpreet Singh Bali and Ghulam Rasool Malik.
Last week, Raina, who was the President of Municipal Council Baramulla was removed after he lost a no-confidence motion that was moved against him by councillors.
