Bandipora, Jun 21: Residents of Ajas in north Kashmir’s Bandipora on Tuesday complained that the Health Centre in the village is without approach road causing inconvenience to them.
Expressing their dissatisfaction over the administration, locals said that the government built New Type Primary Health Centre (NTPHC) a few years ago but without proper approach road connectivity from main road to the hospital. They are being forced to carry ailing patients and expecting mothers on wooden stretches during emergencies.
“We have to carry expecting mothers on our shoulders to the hospital because there is no motorable road here. It is very unfortunate,” locals said.
The problem aggravates, according to locals, during nights.
“We somehow manage to carry patients in the daytime but it is challenging to carry patients on this road to hospital,” said Salman Ahmed. “The road connectivity of the health centre was approved only on papers,” he adds.
Locals appealed Deputy Commissioner, Bandipora Dr Owais Ahmad to look into their issues and redress the problem at the earliest. (KNO)
