Muslims help perform last rites of Kashmiri Pandit in Pulwama

Srinagar, Jun 30: Hoteliers, pony walas, shopkeepers and other people in Kashmir have wholeheartedly welcomed yatras to Kashmir and said that they are ready for cooperation but authorities must allow them to carry their routine work hassle free.
Hoteliers from Pahalgam and Sonamarg said that this year there remained a good flow of tourists and there are hardly any yatri who are staying in hotels.
They said that pilgrims are staying in base camps and very less pilgrims are staying in hotels so there will be very less impact on hoteliers with Yatra, however, “we are ready to provide them space if they need it.”
“Most of the hotels are booked already but tourists will visit here only if government will ensure their hassle free movement,” they said.
They added that if tourists won’t be allowed to move freely, they will give wrong message and other tourists will cancel their trips thereby affecting this sector.
Pony walas also echoed same voice and said that they welcome all Pilgrims here but they must allow us to work freely and shouldn’t be compelled to use alternative routes.
Meanwhile, shopkeepers in Pahalgam and other parts of highway said government must take care of them as well as their livelihood depends on their shops and they must allowed to run their units round the clock and tourists must be allowed to purchase items they need.
Hoteliers, pony walas and shopkeepers have appealed authorities that government must take care of local, domestic and international tourists as well so that people dependent on this sector won’t face any problems again.
