Anantnag, May 19: Asha workers stage a peaceful protest in Kokernag area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Wednesday urging government to resolve their issue and release the wages which they have not received from past three months.
“Coming from economically poor background, we continue to work without getting our salaries. For many of us, salary is the major source of income,” rue the Asha workers.
One of the Asha workers said that they are performing duties in this pandemic and still not being paid. “We are being called Covid-Warriors but not being paid. From past several months we have not received a penny,” she said.
The protesting Asha workers urged the concerned department to release their pending salaries. (KNT)
