Srinagar, May 19: Senior IAS officer Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, who was recently deployed to oversee COVID-19 containment measures in Jammu division, was hospitalised on Wednesday following a minor heart attack, officials said.
An official said that Shahid Chodhary former DC Srinagar and secretary Tribal Affairs also looking over COVID-19 containment measures in Jammu division suffered “Myocardial Infarcation” last night and was admitted to Ankur Maitrika Hospital.
Confirming it, a close relative of Choudhary said that he was ‘unwell and is now stable’.
A doctor from Ankur Maitrika Hospital said that Shahid Chodhary is out of danger and is presently in ICU under observation.
As soon as the news about his ailment came to light, people across the country took to social media to pray for his speedy recovery. (KDC)
