A decade of Digital India

Amid the tall claims of the authorities concerned that several steps have been taken to ensure that the garbage is not piled up on the roadsides, however, the locals, living in residential colonies here have been facing immense hardships in absence of the proper dumping sites as the heaps of garbage could be seen piling up on the roadsides, causing health issues to the locals. The garbage piling up on the roadside is also among the main cause of increase in the number of stray dogs, thus leading to the sufferings of the local residents. The twin residential colonies—including Khalid bin Waleed Colony and Zaffar Colony of Natipora here are glaring examples of how some localities have been neglected with regard to ensuring proper sanitation. The people living in the localities have claimed that not even a single garbage dumper is installed in the interiors of these colonies and in absence of SMC dumpers; they feel immense hardships to contain the daily waste that comes out from every household. Interestingly, they have reportedly claimed that SMC has deputed a vehicle in the area for gathering garbage, which according to them comes twice in a week only, in the result of which, the garbage remains piled up for days together in these localities. Therefore, in order to reduce the health related issues and ensure proper sanitation in the localities, the concerned should install dumpers in the colonies and should identify all such places where the dumpers have not been installed so far, so that the further process is started in this regard to ensure that the roads are cleared from the garbage and people could heave a sigh of relief.
