Srinagar, Aug 10: In a first of its kind in any government trauma hospital in Jammu division, a microscopic Ear Surgery was conducted at accident hospital Chowki Choura Akhnoor Jammu.
The surgery was conducted by ENT Surgeon Dr Saima Tabassum, a double gold medalist in MBBS and M.S ENT with experience of 9 years in ENT.
Dr Saima Tabassum said that a 30-year-old female patient was admitted at accident hospital Chowki Choura with complaint of ear discharge from three years with occasional pain.
Patient was having a large hole in ear drum which was diagnosed and treated with surgery at the right time, she said.
“Tympanoplasty is the surgical operation that is performed to reconstruct the eardrum or the small bones of the middle ear. The goal of this surgical procedure is to close the perforation and also to improve hearing,” she said.
This operation was first time performed in accidental hospital Chowki Choura by Dr Saima Tabassum and the anesthesia team was led by Dr Sumaira Bashir under guidance of BMO concerned Dr Ritesh Kullar.
