Coronavirus: JK reports 418 new cases

Srinagar, Aug 17: Jammu and Kashmir Monday reported 418 fresh cases of Covid-19, pushing the number of active cases to 3,466 while no more death was reported in the UT in the last 24 hours and death toll stands at 4,779.
An official said that among 418 new cases, 328 belong to Kashmir division while as 90 to Jammu division.
He said that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir have reached to 301,497 including 296,153 recoveries and 2,432 deaths, while total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 173,193 including 170,292 recoveries and 2,347 deaths. He further said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 3,466 including 2,912 from Kashmir division and 709 from Jammu division.
With 709 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in J&K has reached to 466,445 which is 98.28 percent of the total cases.
“Among the fresh 418 cases today, 116 are from Srinagar, 52 from Baramulla, 47 from Budgam, 07 from Pulwama 74 from Kupwara, 05 from Anantnag, 05 from Bandipora, 14 from Ganderbal, 07 from Kulgam and 01 from Shopian in Kashmir division while 90 are from Jammu division that include 54 from Jammu district, 07 from Udhampur, 04 from Rajouri, 05 from Doda, 05 from Kuthua , 00 from Samba, 10 from Kishtwar, 01 from Poonch, 04 from Ramban and 00 from Reasi,” said the official.
As per the daily information bulletin 6,699,386 persons in J&K are under observation while 144 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides 3,466 persons are in isolation.
According to the bulletin, 6,690,650 persons have completed the surveillance period and 347 persons are under home surveillance besides so far results of 26,324,868 samples are available.
“Out of 26,324,868 the number of samples tested negative stands at 25,850,178 while 474,690 have tested positive, among them 3,466 cases are active, 466,445 have recovered and 4,779 persons have died,” it added.
