Coronavirus: JK reports 419 new cases

Srinagar, Aug 18: Jammu and Kashmir Thursday reported 419 fresh cases of Covid-19, pushing the number of active cases to 3,327 while no more death was reported in the UT in last 24 hours and death toll stands at 4,779.
An official said that among 419 new cases, 361 belong to Kashmir division while as 58 to Jammu division.
He said that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir have reached to 301,858 including 296,611 recoveries and 2,432 deaths, while total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 173,251 including 170,292 recoveries and 2,347 deaths. He further said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 3,327 including 2,815 from Kashmir division and 512 from Jammu division.
With 558 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in J&K has reached to 467,003 which is 98.32 percent of the total cases.
“Among the fresh 419 cases today, 115 are from Srinagar, 98 from Baramulla, 53 from Budgam, 09 from Pulwama 26 from Kupwara, 24 from Anantnag, 07 from Bandipora, 08 from Ganderbal, 19 from Kulgam and 02 from Shopian in Kashmir division while 58 are from Jammu division that include 29 from Jammu district, 00 from Udhampur, 04 from Rajouri, 03 from Doda, 02 from Kuthua , 05 from Samba, 10 from Kishtwar, 02 from Poonch, 03 from Ramban and 00 from Reasi,” said the official.
As per the daily information bulletin 6,699,394 persons in J&K are under observation while 146 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides 3,327 persons are in isolation.
According to the bulletin, 6,690,794 persons have completed the surveillance period and 348 persons are under home surveillance besides so far results of 26,336,182 samples are available.
“Out of 26,336,182 the number of samples tested negative stands at 25,861,073 while 475,109 have tested positive, among them 3,327 cases are active, 467,003 have recovered and 4,779 persons have died,” it added.
