Qazigund, May 22: A 25-year-old youth was on Saturday found dead under mysterious circumstances in Kewa village of Qazigund in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
Officials said that panic gripped Kewa Malikabad village after the locals spotted the body of a man lying on the roadside.
“The locals immediately informed the police,” they said, adding that a team was rushed to the area and the body was taken away.
They identified the deceased as Huzaif Ahmad Khan, 27, son of Atta Mohammad Khan of Check-e-Wangund Qazigund.
Station House Officer (SHO) Qazigund Reshi Irshad said that death seems suspicious and inquest proceedings have been initiated under 174 CrPC.
