The one-way traffic at busiest Dalgate road for the past over many years has continued to push the commuters to the wall as the traffic mess at the road can be witnessed at any time of the day, especially in evening hours. After the damage caused to the previous bridge, the government came up with a temporary bridge, claiming that the road will be developed again and the bridge will be constructed. However, years have elapsed; the commuters continue to face tremendous hardships as the vehicles coming from Lal Chowk are not being allowed to pass through Boulevard road directly, but are being forced to remain stuck in traffic mess by directing them to take U-turn to pass through the narrow and temporary bridge. One fails to understand why the authorities concerned are dilly-dallying the process to construct the concrete bridge at Dalgate to ease the sufferings of the commuters on a daily basis. It is the time when the government should identify all such places where the temporary bridges have come up and replace them with the concrete bridge for the smooth passage to the commuters. The inordinate delay in constructing the concrete bridge has also caused huge inconvenience to the traders in the area, who from time to time raised their voices for the redressal of their grievance. To ease their sufferings, the concerned authorities must take steps to come up with the concrete bridge so that the people including the locals as well as the tourists could heave a sigh of relief.
