Ganderbal, Nov 12: For the first time, doctors performed Minimally Invasive Procedure for Hemorrhoids (MIPH) operation at Sub District Hospital Kangan area in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district
A team of doctors including Dr Faroze Khan, Consultant Surgeon; Dr Masarat and Dr Aabida, Consultant Anesthesia, along with other paramedical staff performed MIPH surgery for grade 4 hemorrhoids on a female patient from the Wussan area of Kangan.
Dr Faroze Khan said that Minimally Invasive Procedure for Hemorrhoids (MIPH), an advanced technique, is being increasingly recommended by surgeons around the country, “This operation is performed with the help of a stapler device. The patient can go home the same day as there is almost no pain, fast recovery and less recurrence. Even the patient can walk and start doing normal activities within 2 to 3 days,” he said.
The doctor said that MIPH has several advantages over surgical treatments such as minimal pain, minimal blood loss, quick recovery, and reduced hospital stay. In fact, patients will be able to return to their normal daily activities within a day, he said. Medical Superintendent SDH Kangag Dr Salma Bhat congratulated the hospital administration and the doctors’ team for accomplishing the feat.
