Register under various self-employment schemes: DC Budgam to unemployed youth

Budgam, Nov 16: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, S F Hamid Wednesday chaired Block Diwas at Panchayat Halqa Razven in Block SK Pora of the district.
Among others, Chairman BDC SK Pora, CEO, Ex. En. PDD, Ex. En R&B, ARTO, BDO, AD Planning, BMO and other district officers and officials attended the programme.
On the occasion, DC stressed on the completion of balance work of WSS to ensure adequate potable water supply to the area. He also instructed concerned to submit a report against the Rs. 3.5 crore WSS, which as per locals has failed to cater to the demand of targeted population.
PRIs and respected locals from village Razven, Sanoor Kalipora, Russu, Chairhar, Watalpora and other adjacent villages apprised the DC about their needs and requirements.
After giving patient hearing, the DC said special focus shall be given on ensuring better drinking water facility to the area.
He said various projects inducing SK Pora to Malpora and Redbugh to Chewa roads macadimization, Jal Shakti works, improvement works in power, health and upgradiation of High School SK Pora to Higher Secondary level be taken up on priority.
On the occasion, DC informed locals about the one-time PDD amnesty scheme and urged consumers to avail benefits under it. He also assured that rational distribution of feeders from Receiving Station SK Pora be ensured for smooth scheduled electricity supply to all villages.
Health Authorities were directed to check scope for shifting village Razven with nearest Health Block Magam instead of Soibugh block for public convenience.
Stressing on promotion of self employment, the DC appealed local unemployed youth to register themselves under various schemes for their decent livelihood and earning.
Meanwhile, DC urged local residents for their cooperation to curb drug menace and illegal mining in their villages.
Asserting on cleanliness and sanitation, the DC urged the PRIs and locals to ensure complete ban on single use plastic items, roadside dumping of garbage including cow dung and ensure proper garbage disposal in all villages.
The DC also directed that a joint awareness camp shall be held in Panchyat Halqa Razven on November- 25, where concerned departments shall inform locals about their schemes and ensure on spot redressal of their issues.
Later, the DC also visited Girls Middle School Razven, where he interacted with students and inspected education facilities.
