DC Baramulla takes holistic review regarding sanitation measures at GMC

Baramulla, Nov 16: With an aim to get appraisal of all basic necessities more specifically the sanitation facilities available at Govt Medical College (GMC) Baramulla, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar Wednesday chaired a meeting with the concerned functionaries where she took a holistic review about the facilities being served to the public.
On the occasion, a comprehensive discussion was held wherein the DC issued a slew of instructions with regard to the availability of basic amenities in the institution.
At the outset of the meeting, the DC directed the concerned agency to complete the construction/renovation of all the sanitary units as early as possible. She added that no laxity shall be tolerated against sanitation facilities.
The DC also directed District Pollution Officer to conduct a training session in the hospital and familarize the concerned functionaries about proper segregation and management of solid and liquid waste. She underlined the need for mobilising all the available resources in this regard.
Regarding proper parking facility in the hospital, the DC directed to launch anti encroachment drive on approach road leading to the College adding that commuters should not face any kind of inconvenience.
The DC also directed to renovate the boundary wall of the hospital well within the fixed time line. She further emphasized upon the line departments to ensure all basic amenities including drinking water, electricity and other necessities, are provided in a smooth and convenient manner.
Moreover, Dr Sehrish exhorted upon JKPCC to complete the construction work of administration block by mobilizing all the available resources and ensure that the block is handed over to the hospital authorities before 30th November.
Additional District Development Commissioner, Aijaz Abdullah Saraf, Principal GMC Dr Ruby Reshi, Additional SP, Additional Deputy Commissioner Zahoor Ahmad Raina, Joint Director Planning M Yousuf Rather, Medical Superintendent GMC Parveez Masoodi and other concerned officer attended the meeting.
