Private practice worrisome for poor

The private practice by the doctors despite the ban imposed by the government have once again made it clear that the orders being issued are not being implemented in the spirit. One of the associations of the medicos have come up with the statements, demanding ban on allowing the government doctors to run private hospitals. The government hospitals are already facing a dearth of doctors and paramedical staff, but instead of strengthening the staff at the hospitals, the government has been permitting the doctors to run the private hospitals, which is not only affecting the patient care but also points towards the nexus between the government and some doctors. Such a situation is not only painting a grim picture of the health department but also put brakes on the government’s efforts regarding ensuring better healthcare to the poor people of the society. The government hospitals and facilities are the only hope for the people belonging to the downtrodden section of the society, but such happenings are pushing them to the wall as they are being forced to visit the private clinics and hospitals for treatment, which is certainly unaffordable to them. Therefore, in order to ensure better healthcare facility to the poor, the government should stop private practice by doctors and those who are already drawing salaries from the government exchequer, should be barred to run the private hospitals and clinics for the sake of the people. The complete focus on the government run hospitals would bring huge respite to the poor people and also helps in achieving the goal of better healthcare in the institutes.
