DC Bandipora reviews preparations for ‘My Town, My Pride’

Bandipora, Dec 2: In view of the forthcoming second phase of ‘My Town, My Pride’, starting from 5th December, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Dr. Owais Ahmed on Friday chaired a meeting to review the arrangements put in place for smooth and successful conduct of the Urban Outreach programme.
At the outset, the DC took firsthand review of department-wise arrangements put in place and services being made available to the people during the course of the ‘My Town, My Pride’ programme.
Detailed discussions were also held on various activities to be conducted in all three Municipal areas of the district as per the specified and given parameters.
Departments were apprised that Visiting Officers during their visit to ULBs shall be interacting with people and ULB representatives, reviewing status of works, public services, implementation of schemes, visiting govt. institutions, besides taking part in various activities.
The DC directed line departments to make ample preparations and ensure provision of public services to the people. He especially laid stress on the conduct of sports and cultural activities, disseminating massive awareness on installed stalls, providing self-employment to 5 youth in each ward, land passbook distribution, and plantation drives.
He directed the authorities of ULBs of Bandipora, Sumbal and Hajin to engage and involve maximum people in the programmes.
Dr Owais also sought effective coordination amongst departments and representatives of ULBs to make the programme action oriented.
He stressed for saturation of deliverables while emphasizing upon all stakeholders to conduct door to door camps.
The meeting was attended by the Presidents of MC Bandipora, Sumbal and Hajin, Nodal officer Coordination, JDP, CEO/ EOs of MCs and other district and sectoral officers.
