Srinagar, Dec 30: A youth from Srinagar has launched an online food app so that people can get their favourite food at the comfort of their homes.
Shoaib Ahmad Wani, a resident of Habba Kadal area of Srinagar after pursuing B. Com has started an online food app “Ur meals” that is enabling all to order food from 250 favourite eating joints on the click of a button.
Shoaib said that outside J&K one could easily have got food at his doorsteps by simply ordering it online but such facilities are very rare in Kashmir.
“When I saw such facilities outside Kashmir, I decided to start such a facility in Srinagar and launched the app “Ur Meal” and currently 10-15 boys are associated with me who have delivered orders,” he said.
He said that we have a type with all restaurants and whatsoever restaurants are chosen by the customers on the app, accordingly, it is being delivered.
Wani said one will have to download the app from Play Store, view the eating places of his choice and place the order.
“With Kashmir’s’ favourite eating joints – restaurants, sweet shops, confectioners’ outlets, fast food joints, coffee shops – on board with Ur meals, we promise customers quick and reliable delivery so that they can enjoy their favourite food at the comfort of their homes,” he said, adding that as of now it has received good positive feedback in last few months and is getting around 20 orders on daily basis which is expected to increase.
The customer gets updates while the order is readied and he is able to track real-time as it gets delivered to destination, he said, adding payment is being through PayTM wallet or cash on delivery.
“Since the government can’t provide jobs to everyone. Therefore I came up with my own venture, where I don’t need to run after government jobs but rather can provide jobs to many,” he said.
He said currently our services are available in Srinagar district only but we are planning to expand it to other towns as well.
Shoaib said that Kashmiri youth has got much talent but the need of the hour is to channelise that. He said that the youth instead of moving after government jobs should start their own ventures.
